Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Billinghurst Larder collects when you browse, order or contact us, why we process it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It covers our shelf-stable food store and Larder Club membership.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is BILLINGHURST LIMITED(“Billinghurst Larder”, “we”, “us”), registered at 82/6 Harrison Gardens, Edinburgh, Midlothian, EH11 1SB, United Kingdom. For any privacy question or request, contact support@billhurst.shop or call +44 7650348678.

What we collect

  • Contact & delivery details — name, email, phone, shipping address (delivery address) and country you enter at checkout or in a form.
  • Order data — items purchased, order value, order fulfilment and delivery status, and support history.
  • Account & membership data — if you join Larder Club, your subscription tier and status.
  • Payment boundary data — we receive a confirmation and the last digits/brand of your card from Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number.
  • Enquiry data — the content of contact and wholesale forms.
  • Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, and essential/analytics cookies (see our Cookie Policy).

Collection sources — where we collect it from

Our collection sources are:

  • Directly from you — checkout, the contact form, the wholesale enquiry form, the Larder Builder and membership sign-up.
  • Automatically from your device — cookies, server logs and basic technical data when you browse.
  • From our processors — Stripe (payment result and billing details), our hosting provider, our email provider, and our delivery carriers and fulfilment partners (order fulfilment and delivery status).

We do not buy personal data from data brokers or acquire marketing lists from third parties.

Order, fulfilment and delivery data

To sell and ship physical shelf-stable food we process order and order fulfilment data specifically: the shipping address you provide, the recipient name and phone number, the items and quantities ordered, any delivery instructions, and the resulting order, dispatch and tracking status.

Shipping address and carriers: your shipping address and contact details are shared with our fulfilment partners and delivery carriers solely to pick, pack and deliver your order, and — for international orders — with customs authorities where a declaration is legally required for food shipments.

Order fulfilment: we retain order fulfilment records (what was shipped, when, and to where) to prove delivery, handle carrier claims and meet accounting obligations.

Returns and support: where you contact us about a return, refund, damaged parcel or an allergen or ingredient question, we process the order details and the correspondence needed to resolve it. See our Returns Policy and Shipping & Delivery Policy.

Payment and billing data: Stripe processes your card and billing data; we receive only the payment outcome and limited billing details needed to fulfil and account for the order.

Why we use it and our legal bases

  • To perform your order (contract) — process payment, ship goods, provide support.
  • To run memberships (contract) — manage your Larder Club subscription.
  • To answer enquiries (legitimate interests / consent) — reply to your messages.
  • To keep records and prevent fraud (legal obligation / legitimate interests).
  • To improve the store and, where you agree, send updates (consent / legitimate interests). Under CCPA this is a business purpose.

Payment provider boundary

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay, you are taken to Stripe’s secure checkout and your card details are handled by Stripe as an independent controller under its own terms. Billinghurst Larder does not see, receive or store your full card number, CVC or full PAN. We only receive the payment outcome and limited billing details needed to fulfil and account for your order.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with:

  • Hosting & infrastructure — our website host and database provider.
  • Payment — Stripe, for checkout, subscriptions and refunds.
  • Delivery & fulfilment — carriers and fulfilment partners who ship your order.
  • Email — our transactional email provider for confirmations and replies.
  • Professional & legal — advisers or authorities where legally required.

We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Some processors operate outside the UK/EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) to keep it protected.

How long we keep it

Order and accounting records are kept as required by law (typically up to 6 years). Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it. General enquiry and lead data is kept for no longer than 24 months unless it becomes part of an order record.

Your rights (UK GDPR, EU GDPR & CCPA)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Under CCPA/CPRA you may request disclosure of the categories of data collected, request deletion, and are entitled to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any right, email support@billhurst.shop. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

Do Not Sell or Share

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. If this ever changes, we will provide a clear opt-out. You can direct any request to support@billhurst.shop.

Cookies and automated decisions

We use essential cookies to run the basket and checkout, and limited analytics cookies only where permitted — see the Cookie Policy. We do not make solely automated decisions producing legal effects about you.

Children

Our store is not intended for children under 13, who may not use it or place orders. Customers aged 13–17 must have the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, whose contact details we may require.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable processors. No method is perfectly secure, but we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
